Last week I head a pleasure to meet a home owner, Lisa who lives in Altadena. Lisa own a house that sits on half an acre. The main house is about a 100′ away from the garage in the back and further down of the garage, about 50′ away there is a nice pool.
No touch space
What I mean by that is, you know, the places we do not touch looks like no touch place, a place that you do not visit or touch on a daily basis. It can be a storage of things that you need once in a while or just an unused space that needs your attention.
Kids play room
So what we are going to do is to use that 400 sq.f. of unused and untouched space to create a play room with Laminate floor, casement window, 8′ french door that open out with two 12” side panels and a 36” door. The existing house’s windows are wood with grids so we will create a similar to the existing house with the design and the paint color.
High ceiling
I love high ceiling, it gives, visually, much more space and its beautiful. I love looking up high and that is what we are going to do. You see, the interior of the garage is all open to the studs. There is no drywall on the walls and the ceiling so why no keeping it like that, meaning, drywall the walls and ceiling which is already high so why changing it, right?
Carport
Since we are converting the garage into a playroom, we will need to build a two car carport which will have pitch roof, thick posts covered with stucco and stone on the two front posts which will give it depth and quality feeling and look.
Do you see the picture?
If not, I promise to share a photo after the completion which will take about three-month including the time that it takes the city to approve the plans.
